ChoiceDek® Products Offer Builders and Homeowners Attractive Composite Decking
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – ChoiceDek® products are ideal for decks, dock surfaces, playground equipment, boardwalks, handicap access ramps and walkways. ChoiceDek® products are made from a patented process that encapsulates recycled wood fiber in recycled polyethylene.
Extensively tested by independent laboratories under hostile accelerated aging conditions, ChoiceDek® materials do not require staining, sealing or treating and carry a manufacturer’s limited, lifetime, fully transferable warranty. The unique composite material is also resistant to salt water and, unlike other deck materials, its warranty is still valid with water contact installations. ChoiceDek® materials are also resistant to termites, splintering and dents from hail.
ChoiceDek® boards are straight, consistent and will not split when properly installed. They also can be installed with standard hand or power tools. Carbide-tipped saw blades with fewer than 20 teeth are recommended.
ChoiceDek® products are available in a range of colors – Gray, Redwood, Woodtone, Driftwood and Spice – so builders and homeowners can create interesting patterns and designs. Driftwood and Spice are from ChoiceDek®’s new Eden series, designed to give outdoor living spaces the look of tropical hardwoods without coming from the tropics.
ChoiceDek® boards feature a unique ribbed bottom design that reduces weight while adding stiffness and are available in 12’, 16’, and 20’ lengths in 5/4” x 6”profiles. Decking boards are not to be used for structural purposes, but will span 16" on center (12" on center for diagonal applications) when installed correctly.
The ChoiceDek® materials product line also includes a complete, decorative railing system including posts, post caps, railing, and balusters. Posts are designed with a hole in the center so wires for outdoor lighting, security or audio systems can be conveniently hidden.
